Understanding of the bio-psycho-social and spiritual needs of the patient with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is an important aspect for the nurse in providing the quality nursing care that is emphasized due to the short survival time of the patient. The study aimed to identify areas of common needs of the patient with GBM through qualitative research. The method of the semi-structured interview was used. In the study, seven patients with GBM have participated. The results of the research have showed the needs of GBM patients regarding physical symptoms and adverse effects of treatment, the experience of the disease, communication with healthcare professionals and awareness of the disease in the context of information and support in the areas of daily life. The results of the research could be beneficial as a primary material for conducting further research concerning the needs of the patients with GBM with the aim to concern with this specific population of patients and to promote their quality of life at the highest possible level.
