Malignant melanoma is one of the most severe forms of skin cancer, characterized by a high risk of metastasis and significant mortality. Although it accounts for only a small proportion of skin tumors, it is responsible for the majority of skin cancer-related deaths. This article focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of melanoma, covering the role of healthcare professionals from primary care physicians to dermatovenerologists and plastic surgeons, while emphasizing the importance of early detection and a comprehensive approach to patient care. The article also highlights the significance of prevention through UV protection and raising awareness of melanoma risk factors.
