Neoadjuvant treatment of rectal adenocarcinoma

Treatment of the rectal adenocarcinoma is multidisciplinary. Radiotherapy is the important component of the treatment. Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy is indicated in tumours T3–4 or in the case of positive lymph nodes. 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and capecitabine are the most used cytostatik in combination with radiotherapy. The aim the neoadjuavnt treatment is attainment circumeferential radial margin (CRM) after total mesorectal excision (TME).

Stereotactic radiotherapy and radiosurgery of primary brain tumors

We analysed retrospectively our treatment of primary brain tumors using stereotactic radiotherapy and radiosurgery. Methods: Patients underwent CT and MR examinations. Target volume and technique were planned in BrainLab system. Patients were irradiated on X knife. Radiosurgery was apllied with fixation using stereotactic frame. Stereotactic mask was used in cases of stereotactic radiotherapy. Statistical processing was performed at Department of mathematics and statistics, Faculty of Science, Masaryk university Brno. Angiosarcomas are highly malignant neoplasms that originate from blood or lymphatic vessels. Colorectal cancer is the second most common cancer. At the time of diagnosis more than 30 % of patients have distant metastasis. The most common are liver metastases. Multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of liver metastases leads to longer survival of patients.
